With winter chills still abound, staying warm is a top priority until springtime finally rolls around. These recipes will make use of your leftover winter veggies and draw out the last of winter’s scrumptious bites before the season comes to a close. Generous on leftovers, these family-style meals will be a seasoned dinner delight right up till the start of spring.

Pulled Pork

Nothing is a crowd pleaser quite like pulled pork. Especially tangy and succulent, this recipe features pork roasting in it’s own juices and spices for hours on end. Whether you dress it up or down, pulled pork is equally as delicious served with baked potatoes and green beans as it is on a roll with coleslaw. For this recipe be sure to start your slow cooker well before your serving time.

Fancy Chili

Arguably the best winter comfort food, this chili recipe is no small undertaking, but will pay off in flavorful layers of spice and meat. While great on its own, the secret to this awesome chili is in the toppings. From cilantro to cheddar cheese, everyone can customize their bowl exactly to their wishes. Even better, it can be made right in your slow cooker.

Chicken Pot Pie

Flaky pastries stuffed with colorful veggies, moist chicken, and a waterfall of gravy is always the best way to end the cold winter season. These individual pies are simply a delight and make it easy to utilize any leftover winter veggies. Try serving them as an appetizer for your next dinner party.

Homemade Pizza

Pizza is fun for the whole family to make and offers a light alternative to winter’s many heavy dishes. Chewy crust layered with melted mozzarella and basil pesto is the perfect canvas for any of your favorite toppings. Simple and delicious, this recipe will make you a pizza pro in no time.

Zesty Carrot and Cauliflower Soup

This soup is bursting with coriander and umami, coaxing delicious flavor out of carrots and cauliflower. Topped with bright lemon, the beauty of this soup is that any leftover vegetable can be thrown in. For more depth of flavor roast your veggies first in the oven with garlic and onion and swap the water with beef stock.

Asian Cabbage Rolls with Pork or Turkey

Often underrated, cabbage is a versatile winter veggie delicious in many different dishes. In this recipe it serves as a vehicle for flavorful ground pork or turkey spiced with ginger, garlic, and cilantro. Layered with a soy sauce, vinegar, and sesame sauce, this dish packs a spicy punch while utilizing beautiful napa cabbage leaves.

Wherever your culinary adventures take you this winter, the right kitchen appliances can help you get the job done. A creamy soup or perfect pizza crust can’t be created without the right blender or oven.
